Jun Wei Counselling and Psychotherapy
You’ve tried to stay strong — but lately, it's been too much to carry on your own.

Come to therapy, and we can share the weight together. It’s easier to heal when you feel safe, understood, and deeply heard. That’s what I try to offer in every session — a space where your pain doesn’t have to be managed alone, and where we can gently figure things out, together.

Whether you’re feeling stuck in your relationship, overwhelmed by what it means to be LGBTQ+, or unsure how to support your LGBTQ+ child — therapy can offer clarity, care, and real change. You don’t have to do it alone.
I’m here to help you find the way forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you only see LGBTQ+ clients?
While I specialize in LGBTQ+ mental health, I also work with straight individuals, couples, and parents — anyone looking for a warm, inclusive space where their experiences are respected and supported.
2. What kinds of issues can we work on in therapy?
Clients often come in with emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, self-worth concerns, family conflict, or questions about identity. You don’t need to have it all figured out — we’ll explore it together at a pace that feels safe.
3. I’m a parent who doesn’t fully understand or accept my child’s LGBTQ+ identity. Can I still work with you?
Yes. You don’t need to be fully affirming to start. My Parent CARES-LGB approach helps parents process difficult emotions, reflect on their fears, and build stronger, more loving relationships with their children — without pressure or shame. After all, most parents do care, deeply.
4. I live outside of Malaysia/Singapore/Hong Kong — can I still work with you?
Yes. I work online with clients across Southeast Asia and globally. I’m able to work with U.S. and Canadian citizens as long as they are living outside of the U.S. and Canada, since my professional insurance does not cover services delivered within those two countries. I’ve also lived in Hong Kong and understand what it’s like to navigate identity and family across cultures. Many of my clients come from diasporic backgrounds, and I tailor therapy with care and cultural sensitivity.
5. What is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and how do you use it?
EFT is a research-backed approach that helps people understand and transform painful emotional and relational patterns. I use it to help clients go deeper — beyond surface-level coping — and create lasting shifts in how they see themselves and others.
6. Do you provide clinical supervision for therapists?
Yes. I offer EFT-informed supervision for therapists who want to deepen their work with emotion, attachment, or LGBTQ+ clients. While I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, I respect and work within your own theoretical approach — whether that’s existential, psychodynamic, or integrative. Supervision with me is not about critique or shame; it’s a collaborative space to grow your confidence, skills, and clinical insight.
7. How long are sessions and what is your fee?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes for Individual or Supervision sessions, and 90 minutes for Couples or Family sessions. Fees vary based on service and will be shared transparently when you book.
